Unibet World Grand Prix Qualification Latest

THE race to qualify for the Unibet World Grand Prix will resume next week ahead of a busy September on the PDC circuit.

The World Grand Prix, famed for the double-start format, will be held at Dublin's Citywest Hotel from September 30-October 6, as 32 players compete live on Sky Sports.

The top 16 players from the PDC Order of Merit will be joined by 16 ProTour Order of Merit qualifiers, with three European Tour events and two Players Championships remaining for players to win a spot before the cut-off date on September 17.

The stars of the PDC return to action at the tenth European Tour event of the year, the German Darts Championship in Hildesheim, which runs from August 31-September 2.

They will be joined by those who failed to qualify for Hildesheim at Players Championship 17 and 18 in Barnsley for a midweek double-header on September 4-5.

The busy schedule continues with the Dutch Darts Championship in Maastricht from September 7-9, before the players' final opportunity to secure their place in Dublin comes at the International Darts Open in Riesa from September 14-16.

BetVictor World Matchplay semi-finalist Jeffrey de Zwaan provisionally occupies one of the qualifying places as he bids for his Dublin debut.

Joe Cullen's impressive run at the World Matchplay moved him into the world's top 16 as he provisionally secured automatic qualification for the World Grand Prix.

Steve Lennon will be hoping to represent Ireland in the event after reaching his first European Tour final earlier this year, while fellow-Irishman William O'Connor, who also made the final of a European Tour event in 2018, is among the players trying to force their way into contention.
