10 NIGHT PACKAGE AT HARROWS BARBADOS DARTS FESTIVAL
FOR LESS THAN £800 PER PERSON
Over the Christmas period the red top national newspapers and other social media have bombarded us with images and stories of celebs of all different categories enjoying themselves in Barbados. The immediate association is that you have to be super rich to emulate them. “What a load of outdated, snobbish rubbish!” says Michael Heal, Festival Director of The Harrows Barbados Darts Festival.
“Whilst they are paying hundreds and sometimes thousands of pounds per night for their hotel accommodation to enjoy their sojourn in the sun, participants can enjoy the same experience at this years Darts Festival with a package of air fare, 10 nights hotel accommodation and entry to all the darts activities for less than £800 per person”
“The biggest barrier I have had in attracting darts players in the 14 years of the Festival has been a misplaced perception that the only people Barbados caters for are the “super rich”.
“Each year we have a large percentage of participants who are return visitors.
Why? Because they have a great time and it only costs them the equivalent of giving up 2 packets of fags a week or 4 pints of beer per week or 2 bottles of half decent wine per week!”
“Thanks to governmental and private sector tourism agencies who provide financial support and support from commercial sponsors we are able to keep the staging costs of the Festival to a minimum for participants - £80”.
“Then, because we hold the Festival in the weeks just prior to their “high Winter Season” where accommodation costs almost double, we can offer air conditioned hotel rooms that sleep two at £32 per person per night! We also benefit from the airlines like Thomas Cook, BA and Virgin who, at the very start of their high season traffic to Barbados offer great deals for these early weeks – e.g. c.£390 per person return on Thomas Cook flying out of Manchester or £530 from BA flying dailyout of Gatwick”
Harrows Barbados Darts Festival, November 6 – 16.
