Dartboards

A bristle dartboard is the right choice for steel tip darts. The sisal fibres in a bristle board grip the dart and self-heal after it is removed, which keeps the surface in good condition for longer. Electronic dartboards are designed for soft tip darts only.

With regular play, a good bristle dartboard should last anywhere from 6 months to three years. Rotating your board regularly helps distribute the wear evenly across all the segments, so it lasts as long as possible. Most Harrows boards have a rotating number ring to make this easy.

The centre of the bullseye should sit at 1.73 metres from the floor. The throwing line (oche) should be 2.37 metres from the face of the board. These are the official BDO and WDF measurements used in competition, so if you set up to these your practice is always match-accurate.

Harrows dartboards include everything you need for installation, including a mounting bracket and fixings. Check the individual product listing for what is included with your board. If you need additional wall protection, a dartboard surround or cabinet is a good option to look at too.

Bristle boards use tightly packed sisal fibres and are designed for steel tip darts. Electronic boards have a plastic surface with small holes and work with soft tip darts. They often include scoring functions built in, which can be useful for casual play, but most serious players prefer the feel and tradition of a bristle board.
