Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Artworker role based in Hoddesdon. The Artworker will be responsible for producing visually compelling artwork for packaging. You’ll work closely with designers, marketing, the production team, and external suppliers to ensure artwork files are technically perfect, consistent with brand standards, and ready for press. This role suits someone with strong technical packaging artwork skills, excellent attention to detail, and previous experience producing packaging in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Artwork Packaging Files: Translate approved design concepts into final, print-ready packaging artwork across multiple formats and substrates.
  • Print-Ready Preparation: Ensure all artwork meets print specifications, including colour management, bleed, crop marks, guides, overprints, trapping, and correct file setup.
  • Packaging Development: Work with existing packaging templates or help refine new ones alongside designers and suppliers.
  • Production Liaison: Collaborate with printers, packaging manufacturers, and internal production teams to clarify requirements, solve technical issues, and ensure smooth progression to print.
  • Quality & Consistency: Check and sign off artwork internally before sending to suppliers. • File Management: Organise, version-control, and archive artwork files.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Head of Design and the design team to ensure deadlines are met and projects run smoothly.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2–4+ years of artwork experience in a studio, agency, or in-house environment.
  • Demonstrated experience producing packaging (retail, or sports industry preferred).
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Strong understanding of print production processes, including litho, digital, and special finishes.
  • Ability to interpret and work from die lines, technical drawings, and supplier templates. • Confidence working with colour profiles, Pantone systems, and artwork accuracy for final output.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills when working with suppliers and internal teams.

 

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with packaging for consumer products or performance/ sports brands. • Knowledge of retail display materials, labels, blister packs, sleeves, boxes, cartons.
  • Basic understanding of 3D packaging mock-ups (Cinema 4D or similar)—not essential but beneficial.
