What You Need to Know About Soft Tip Darts

These darts are designed for use on an electronic dartboard. Their flexible, plastic tip enables them to safely lodge in the pre-moulded holes of the board’s segments and the scores to be automatically calculated. Our premium tungsten barrels offer the same professional weight and grip profiles as our steel tip collection, giving you an authentic playing experience whatever tips you choose.

Whilst it is possible to use a soft tip dart on a bristle board, we generally advise against it. The soft tips won’t stick as reliably as on an electronic board and you will probably experience frequent bounce-outs, which could cause damage to your darts.

Yes, it is generally possible to convert a soft tip dart into a steel tip, and vice versa. Our soft tip barrels are manufactured with a standardised thread to allow for replacement plastic points, or conversion metal points. This enables you to use your favourite barrels on both traditional and electronic dartboards, though, you may get better accuracy from a dart designed and engineered specifically for your preferred board.
